NEW ENGINEERING DESIGN CENTER TO LOCATTE IN BOWLING GREEN

Company will be first to locate at Western Kentucky University’s Small Business Accelerator

Frankfort, Ky. - Governor Ernie Fletcher and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Gene Strong are pleased to announce today that EWA Government Systems, Inc. will locate a new 3,000 square foot engineering and software design center at Western Kentucky University’s Center for Research and Development in Warren County creating 20 new jobs for Kentuckians.

“I am thrilled that EWA Government Systems has made the decision to locate in Bowling Green. This well respected engineering design firm will help Western Kentucky move forward in the New Economy and enable the region to become more commercially competitive,” said Governor Fletcher. “My administration is committed to bringing more economic opportunity to the Commonwealth, and EWA Government Systems will offer many opportunities for families in Western Kentucky.”

Headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, EWA Government Systems provides IT products and services to the U.S. Department of Defense, other sectors of the Federal Government, state and local governments and law enforcement agencies. Further, EWA Government Systems, Inc. provides comprehensive analyses, engineering, and management services to the Department of Defense community and Federal and Civil agencies. The primary focus of the work in Kentucky will be in support of Homeland Security projects and support to the national intelligence community.

“We considered several locations in a number of states before deciding to locate in Bowling Green,” said Doug Armstrong, President of EWA Government Systems, Inc. “The favorable business climate, the presence of a well educated and motivated workforce and the overall quality of life for our employees were the deciding factors.”

“Western Kentucky University is committed to providing resources for applied research, commercialization and business start-ups by partnering with emerging companies,” said WKU President Dr. Gary Ransdell. “EWA Government Systems, with their engineering capabilities, not only will help the economy now, but also will create economic growth potential with faculty partnerships and give science and engineering students an opportunity to apply their talents without leaving the state. We are pleased to have EWA Government Systems as the first company to locate at WKU’s Small Business Accelerator which will officially open in January 2005.”
