TRAINING PROJECTS FOR WORKERS APPROVED

FRANKFORT, KY-- The Bluegrass State Skills Corporation (BSSC) has approved $1,184,963.85 to support 37 skills training projects. Two projects were approved using funds from the Kentucky Adult Education/Council on Postsecondary Education (a Workforce Alliance partner) for Workplace Essential Skills (WES) training. WES training includes, but is not limited to, basic skills for communication, math, technology and problem solving. The WES projects, valued at $50,400.00 will provide entry level, skills upgrade, or related skills training for 1,443 trainees. Twenty-Six BSSC grant fund projects were approved valued at $535,859.50 for 2,733 trainees to receive entry level, skills upgrade, or related skills training. Nine projects were preliminarily approved through BSSC's Skills Training Investment Credit program valued at $598,704.35 for 2,494 trainees to receive skills upgrade training. Two Skills Training Investment Credit projects valued at $17,173.68 received final approval for tax credits to support skills upgrade training activities for 131 trainees.
