INFINITI MEDIA, INC. TO LOCATE NEW FACILITY IN PADUCAH Governor Ernie Fletcher and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Marvin E. Strong, Jr. along with officials from the Greater Paducah Economic Development Council and TVA announced today that Infiniti Media, Inc. has strongly indicated that it will locate a manufacturing facility in Paducah if tax incentives under the Kentucky Industrial Development Act are approved. Infiniti Media, Inc., a privately owned company based in Torrance, California, is a supplier of high quality media packaging products to the recording industry. Products include quality audio, video and cassette disk cases and video magnetic tapes. If approved by the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority, Infiniti Media, Inc. will begin construction immediately on a 100,000 square foot highly technical plastics molding facility in Industrial Park West with full production planned for June of 2004. Employment levels are expected to begin at 35 during the first year and reach approximately 105 after year five. The project represents an initial $47 million investment over five years. "We are very pleased that Infiniti Media, Inc. has decided to locate here in the Commonwealth and we welcome them to Western Kentucky," stated Governor Fletcher. "Economic development and job creation in Kentucky are essential components in moving this great state forward and will continue to be the focus of this administration." Ken Wheeler, chairman of the GPEDC board said, "We couldn't be more pleased we were able to bring Infiniti Media to this region. The addition of 100 good-paying manufacturing jobs is just what we look for when we go out and recruit." "TVA is delighted that Infiniti Media has chosen Paducah as the site of its new manufacturing facility. To make this venture a reality, TVA economic development staff worked with the Paducah Power System, Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, Greater Paducah Economic Development Council, City of Paducah, McCracken County Fiscal Court, and South Kentucky Industrial Development Association. TVA provided Infiniti with technical and site location services and financial assistance in support of the project. The success of our team effort is a reflection of TVA’s steadfast commitment to helping all Valley communities attract quality jobs and investments", stated Skila Harris, Director of TVA. The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development is the primary state agency in Kentucky responsible for creating new jobs and new investment in the state. New business investment in Kentucky in 2003 totaled more than $1.56 billion with the creation of just over 13,800 new jobs.
