TRAINING PROJECTS FOR WORKERS APPROVED

FRANKFORT, KY-- The Bluegrass State Skills Corporation (BSSC) has approved $493,538.92 in worker training projects. Through these 20 projects, 4 were approved using funds from the Workforce Development Cabinet's Department for Adult Education and Literacy (a Workforce Alliance partner) for workplace essential skills training. A total of 2,678 workers will receive entry level, skills upgrade or related skills training.

Companies receiving grants, the amount, number of trainees, and the provider of the training, are as follows:

  • Florence - Balluff, Inc., $18,868.00 for 77 trainees -- Carroll County Area Technology Center
  • Florence - Citicorp Credits Services, Inc. (USA), $25,000.00 for 306 trainees -- Carroll County Area Technology Center
  • Florence - Hennegan, $25,000.00 for 13 trainees -- Carroll County Area Technology Center
  • Frankfort - Washington Penn Plastic Co., Inc., $10,500.00 for 6 trainees -- Central Kentucky Technical College (KCTCS)

The Bluegrass State Skills Corporation (BSSC) has preliminary approved $456,481.37 to fund 10 Skills Training Investment Credit projects. Through these projects, 2,273 workers will receive Skills Upgrade Training. Companies receiving tax credits, the amount, number of trainees, and the provider of the training are as follows:

  • Elizabethtown - Fort Knox National Company, $10,596.18 for 8 trainees -- Elizabethtown Community College (KCTCS)
