New Start-Up Company Locating in Simpson County
Nu-Tech Building Systems, Inc., a start-up company, has chosen to locate its new manufacturing facility in Simpson County. Governor Ernie Fletcher and Economic Development Secretary Gene Strong announced the project in early August, which will initially create 206 new full-time jobs with a projected employment base to reach 557 in three years from activation.
The company plans to produce STRUCTURALCOMB™ modular building panels which are put together in such a way as to produce a low-cost, high strength rigid building modular wall panel capable of becoming a structural member of a building. Insulated STRUCTURALCOMB™ panels offer triple insulation against heat, cold and sound.
"Nu-Tech is pleased to be locating its operations in Franklin, Kentucky, and on behalf of my staff and myself, I wish to thank Mayor Jim Brown, Dennis Griffin of the Franklin-Simpson Industrial Authority and especially, Governor Ernie Fletcher and Gene Strong, Secretary of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development for their assistance and support in making this possible," said Victor Allison, Chairman and CEO of Nu-Tech Building Systems.
Nu-Tech Building Systems Inc. will occupy the former 180,000 square-foot Tyco Electronics building on 20 acres in Franklin and expects to be operational by September of this year.
Nu-Tech Building Systems, Inc. was preliminarily approved by the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) for tax benefits up to $2.38 million under the Kentucky Industrial Development Act (KIDA), an incentive program designed to increase employment in the state.
