The Kentucky Agricultural and Commercial Trade Office marks its seventh year as a sponsor and exhibitor at Enviro-Pro.

Kentucky Exhibits At Enviro-Pro 2006 In Mexico

The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development’s International Trade Division, in conjunction with its Kentucky Agricultural and Commercial Trade Office (KACTO) in Guadalajara, Mexico, will showcase a number of Kentucky companies interested in expanding its products and services into the Mexico market at ENVIRO-PRO 2006.

The event, which will take place September 27-29, 2006 in Mexico City, will bring together more than 5,500 top-level environmental professionals. This year marks the 14th edition of the event and the seventh year that KACTO has been a sponsor of Enviro-Pro.

Enviro-Pro Mexico 2006 is an international forum for the Environment and Energy industries. Participants, including manufacturers, suppliers, importers, distributors, consultants, associations and government institutions, will learn about the latest technologies covering all aspects of the environment; air, water, solid and toxic waste for industries and municipalities.

Mexico is an important region to the Kentucky economy and an expanding global market.  In 2005, Kentucky exported nearly $1.4 billion of goods and services to Mexico, a nearly 78 percent increase from 2004. “This increase clearly signifies the many exporting opportunities available to Kentucky companies,” said Governor Ernie Fletcher. “To build on Kentucky’s success in global markets, it is essential that we continue to market our products on an international level.”

Kentucky companies, including Phoenix Process Equipment, Hexagon Technologies and Immediate Response Spill Technologies, LLC will have the opportunity to participate in this international event through the assistance of the Cabinet’s International Trade Division. Exhibiting under the Kentucky umbrella allows companies that would otherwise not be able to attend on their own have a major presence at this large-scale event.

In order to ensure quality and effective interaction between Kentucky companies and other companies in the environmental sector during the visit, the Kentucky Agricultural and Commercial Trade Office will conduct firm-to-firm matchmaking for participants in addition to a country briefing hosted by the US Commercial Service in Mexico.

“The Kentucky Agricultural and Commercial Trade Office, established in 1996 in Guadalajara, has been able to provide assistance in arranging meetings with foreign buyers tailored to fit a company’s specific objectives,” said Secretary Gene Strong.  “Additionally, our staff is available to follow-up on specific issues and provide guidance on needed issues.”
