With hundreds of "shovel-ready" sites and available industrial buildings in communities across the state, the perfect Kentucky location is only a click away.

Online Industrial Building Submission Available

The Cabinet for Economic Development has been marketing industrial properties for decades. With the pervasiveness of the World Wide Web, the Cabinet took a giant leap forward several years ago with the development of the Economic Development Information System (EDIS). The EDIS is a web-based searchable database for sites and buildings, along with detailed community information. EDIS showcases industrial sites and buildings in Kentucky that are readily available for the location of business and industry.

Early this year, the Cabinet introduced an online industrial building submission form to further enhance the site's capabilities.  The online application allows individuals to update information for existing building inventory or to submit eligible buildings to be added to the database.  Now local economic developers and commercial real estate brokers can quickly and easily submit new industrial buildings for inclusion on the Cabinet's Web site, or update information for existing buildings in the database.

"The online submission is up-to-date and extremely effective," said Sarah Murphy, Business Development Manager, Scott, Murphy & Daniel, LLC.  "Each section is user-friendly, which makes it easy to follow and time efficient.  I would suggest this method to anyone submitting an available building."

Having current information is critical in the economic development arena.  Allowing local partners access to update building information 24 hours a day saves time for them and Cabinet staff, while keeping available data as up-to-date as possible for the end-user.

Prior to making a building submission, please review the Cabinet's facility criteria at http://www.thinkkentucky.com/edis/Bldg/ListABuilding.htm.  New users must first register their email address and password.  The individual making the submission will be the only person with access to add or change information until the initial submission is complete.  After the building has been processed and approved for listing, any person designated in the contacts section will have access to edit the information. .

To receive more information or ask questions about submitting an industrial building, please contact Tammy Bullock, Industrial Building Coordinator in the Site Evaluation Branch at TBullock@ky.gov or 502-564-4886 ext. 3204.
