Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation will relocate its corporate headquarters to Louisville, its former long-time home.

Kentucky Lands Corporate Headquarters for Metal Sales Manufacturing

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, one of the largest and fastest growing manufacturers of metal roofing and siding materials in the country, announced last month that it will move its corporate headquarters back to Louisville. The project is expected to create 40 new Kentucky jobs at an average annual wage of nearly $60,000.

“Metal Sales has a long history in the Louisville area, and we are all thrilled to be moving the corporate office back to Kentucky,” said Rob Waite, President of Metal Sales. “With the new corporate tax landscape in Kentucky, the incentive package that was approved by the Commonwealth and the City of Louisville, and our commitment to downtown Louisville, it was an easy decision. We would like to thank both the Governor’s and Mayor’s teams for their hard work and assistance during this process.”

The new 20,000 square-foot headquarters location, in downtown Louisville at the corner of 3rd and Guthrie streets, will offer significant room for future growth. Renovations are expected to be completed by January 2008.

“I’m delighted Metal Sales Manufacturing will once again locate its corporate headquarters in Louisville, bringing several dozen high-paying jobs to the state,” said Governor Ernie Fletcher. ”The move back to the commonwealth signals to the business community that Kentucky is a great place to locate and that recent changes in Kentucky’s tax structure are working.”

Founded in 1963, Metal Sales operates 19 manufacturing facilities throughout the United States. For the past ten years, the company has been headquartered in Sellersburg, Indiana. The Sellersburg plant operations will continue to operate at this site.

“When a quality company like Metal Sales decides to relocate their headquarters to Louisville, it underscores our increasing competitiveness in job attraction and creation,” said Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson. “We’re excited to add Metal Sales to the list of companies that call Louisville home.”

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) preliminarily approved Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation for tax benefits up to $1.5 million under the Kentucky Jobs Development Act (KJDA). Additionally, the company received approval for up to $50,000 under the Kentucky Enterprise Initiative Act (KEIA), Kentucky’s newest incentive program that allows qualified companies to recoup Kentucky sales and use tax paid for construction materials and building fixtures.
