Kentucky to be Featured in Forbes Magazine
Kentucky is once again set to be showcased on a worldwide stage, and businesses and economic development organizations in the state are being invited to share the spotlight.
For the second year, Kentucky is teaming up with the prestigious Forbes magazine to create a powerful promotional section aimed at attracting business, investment, meetings and visitors to Kentucky. The special “Kentucky Unbridled Spirit” section will appear in the May 21, 2007 issue and will reach 4.7 million Forbes and Forbes Asia readers, including the world’s most influential corporate leaders. The issue will hit the newsstands on the Monday following the Kentucky Derby and has been scheduled to capitalize on the worldwide attention focused on Kentucky during the first Saturday in May.
In this year’s special Kentucky supplement, the Commonwealth’s unique advantages will be touted to the world’s business and tourism audiences. Business executives around the world will learn about Kentucky’s economic development benefits that make the Commonwealth much more competitive than surrounding states. In addition, Kentucky business “Success Stories,” will be highlighted, proving that doing business in Kentucky can be an extremely profitable venture.
This Forbes project is a joint venture of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and the Kentucky Department of Tourism and is an important component in the ongoing effort to raise the profile of the Commonwealth to a worldwide audience.
Kentucky businesses and economic development organizations can participate in the supplement by agreeing to become a sponsor. Several levels of sponsorships are available, and economic development organizations are eligible for special nonprofit rates. Sponsors will get their messages in front of the world’s top corporate executives while also bringing favorable attention to Kentucky. In addition, the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development will send reprints to business prospects for years to come. Sponsors also will receive exposure on the Forbes.com Web site, including a hotlink to their own sites.
In addition, all sponsors in this special supplement will receive an invitation to the Governor’s Mansion in April 2007 to meet Forbes Editor-in-Chief, Steve Forbes, and hear his views on important financial issues. His last trip to Kentucky was a memorable experience.
