Kentucky's Industrial Power Costs Ranked Lowest in the Nation for Fifth Consecutive Year

Kentucky's industrial power costs are over 12% lower than any other state east of the Mississippi River and over a third lower than the U.S. average. Electric power in Kentucky is distributed by four investor owned electric utilities, approximately thirty municipal electric systems, twenty-four rural electric cooperatives and the Tennessee Valley Authority. Recent average annual costs (cents per KWH) for Kentucky and selected states are shown below.
