The upcoming 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games represent a significant opportunity for small business self-promotion.

Opportunity for Kentucky Small Businesses at 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games

The 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will take place in Lexington, Kentucky, at the Kentucky Horse Park September 25-October 10, 2010, and promises to be the largest spectator event in the history of the Commonwealth with an anticipated attendance level of more than 600,000 people. 

The event, being held for the first time outside of Europe, will provide an unprecedented opportunity for Kentucky to showcase itself to a worldwide audience. As a result, Kentucky’s small businesses will have an excellent opportunity to market and promote themselves to the international community.

“This event will provide more than $150 million in economic impact to Kentucky in the form of, among other things, lodging, transportation, food and retail sales.  That is a great opportunity for small businesses,” says Terry Johnson, Director of External Relations for the event. 

Businesses interested in selling their merchandise at the on-site trade fair should send a hard copy letter and a brochure describing and depicting their products to:

Additionally, event organizers will be looking for small businesses to provide some of the construction-related and pre-event needs.

Materials will be kept on file and vendors will be contacted when appropriate. Potential vendors and contractors are asked to be patient as they may not be contacted for more than a year.

World Games 2010 Foundation, Inc. is the independent non-profit 501c3 organizationcreated to stage the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 at the Kentucky Horse Park. The organization has a $56 million operating budget for the event, which does NOT include any governmental funding. Their revenue is primarily derived from sponsors, tickets sales and merchandise sales for the event.
