Global Company Locating Headquarters in Bowling Green
Halton, a Finnish family-owned company specializing in indoor climate solutions has located its U.S. headquarters in Bowling Green at the Western Kentucky University Center for Research and Development. Halton is an international group of companies specializing in developing, manufacturing, and marketing indoor climate products and solutions.
Rick Bagwell, President of Halton Group North America, expressed the company’s pleasure to locate their headquarters in Bowling Green, praising the vibrant economic climate, among other attributes of the city and county that exemplify Halton’s own company beliefs in green and sustainable surroundings. Mr. Bagwell added the company is excited to “locate in an atmosphere that the Innovation and Commercialization Center offers, with the availability to interface with other companies and Western Kentucky University departments that are dedicated to push the envelope of technological development.”
The establishment of Halton’s North American headquarters will bring new technology not currently utilized in the United States. Operations in Bowling Green include headquarters for North America, research and development, and two demonstration labs that will showcase Halton’s technology in action. The operation was planned in two phases. The first phase: headquarters, offices, and a product showcase have been completed and occupied. Also, the President of Halton’s Global Group, Heikki Rinne, has re-located to Bowling Green. The second phase: addition of laboratories is planned for 2008.
Halton first came to South Central Kentucky in 1989 locating in Glasgow. After several years of strong growth, Halton relocated to a new, modern manufacturing facility in Scottsville. The Scottsville plant currently employs 103 people and produces commercial ventilation hoods for restaurants.
