Cabinet Wins Business Facilities magazine's EDDY Award

The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and the Greater Louisville Inc. (GLI) won Bronze in Business Facilities magazine’s “14th Annual Economic Development Deal of the Year Awards (EDDY)”.  The Cabinet and GLI won the EDDY award for the UPS expansion of their Worldport facility in Louisville, which will create 1,284 new full-time jobs and 3,787 new part-time jobs. The expansion represents a more than $1 billion investment by UPS.  The awards, which were featured in the December 2006 edition of Business Facilities magazine, focus on recognizing the locations and economic development agencies that land the biggest, highest-impact, and most challenging corporate expansions during the period of July 1, 2005 to the entry deadline of September 29, 2006.
