Registering a Business

One of the first decisions to make when starting a business is choosing the legal structure of the business. Sole Proprietorship

Domestic General Partnership (including Limited Liability Partnership) – a general partnership established under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Domestic Limited Partnership (including Limited Liability Limited Partnership) – a limited partnership established under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Domestic Limited Liability Company – an LLC established under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Domestic Professional Limited Liability Company – a professional LLC established under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Domestic Non-profit Limited Liability Company – a non-profit LLC established under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Domestic Business Corporation – a corporation established under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Domestic Professional Service Corporation – a professional service corporation established under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Domestic Non-profit Corporation – a non-profit corporation established under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Domestic Business Trust – a business trust established under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Joint Venture

Foreign Business Entities – businesses established under the laws of any state or country other than the Commonwealth of Kentucky that are seeking to do business in Kentucky
