The Kentucky new and expanding industries reports provide a measure of economic development based on qualified industrial activity in the Commonwealth announced or reported during the year. The reports are compiled from data provided by companies, local and industrial development contacts, newspaper announcements, and Cabinet programs designed to locate and retain industry.

The reports include estimated number of jobs, estimated capital investments, and product/service descriptions. Activities are reported in the year the announcements are made, even though full employment announced may not be realized until future years.

Kentucky Reinvestment Act (Jobs Retained column) have been calculated into the report beginning with projects announced after July 1, 2009.
