Kentucky has implemented a program that matches both Phase 1 and Phase 2 federal SBIR and STTR
awards to our high-tech small businesses.
If you are an SBIR or STTR awardee from Kentucky, or are willing to relocate to Kentucky, you can
apply for funds from the commonwealth to match your federal SBIR-STTR awards.
Round Four Solicitation
The first solicitation of the FY 2010 Kentucky SBIR-STTR Matching Funds Program will open on July 1, 2009. It
is anticipated that successive solicitations will follow on a quarterly basis. The amount available for
awards each quarter will vary and will be posted within each solicitation. The program is funded by the
Cabinet for Economic Development, Department of Commercialization and Innovation.
The Kentucky SBIR-STTR Matching Funds Program will accept applications under the first solicitation of FY2010
between July 1, 2009 and July 31, 2009. The program guidelines have been revised and must be read and
followed carefully since the Matching Fund Awards will now be made using a competitive external review
process.
