An 18-member Board of Directors, including representatives of business, government, education, and labor, governs the Bluegrass State Skills Corporation. Private-sector representatives comprise more than half the total membership. The Secretaries of the Cabinet for Economic Development, Education Cabinet and the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet, as well as the President of the Council on Post-secondary Education, the President of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, and the Commissioner of the Department for Employment Services, serve as ex-officio members on the Board.
